The pepper plant ‘Peperomia Raindrop’ owes its name to the shape of its leaves, because they are shaped as a drop. The plant itself comes from the Amazon region. However, it is no problem to give this plant a dark spot on a brighter room.

Peperomia Raindrop

The pepper plant ‘Peperomia Raindrop’ owes its name to the shape of its leaves, because they are shaped as a drop. The plant itself comes from the Amazon region. It is no problem to give this plant a dark spot on a brighter room.

Care

After receiving the plant, put it as soon as possible in a pot. Pick one with openings at the bottom and put it on a platter. Pour in plenty of water and let it drain out at the bottom. Then you give the plant the amount of water needed to make sure the dry ground becomes slightly damp again. The plant enjoys being in a bright room. The ideal temperature for the plant is around 18 degrees Celsius.

This lovely plant arrived last week, during these super hot summer days (~35°C). It looked very thirsty and a bit squashy, but after a good watering it now looks really healthy and happy. Today I even noticed the first new baby leaf! I’m fully satisfied with this new fried =)
